Governance

Code of Conduct

Unity Without Uniformity.

Our Principle

The Avebury Tribe is founded upon a simple idea:

Unity Without Uniformity.

People do not need to believe the same things, follow the same path, or belong to the same organisation in order to stand together in mutual respect.

Expected Conduct

Participants are expected to:

  • Treat others with courtesy and respect.
  • Respect differences of belief and practice.
  • Behave honestly and responsibly.
  • Help create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Respect the landscape and heritage of Avebury.
  • Follow lawful and reasonable site requirements.

Unacceptable Conduct

The following behaviour is not acceptable:

  • Harassment.
  • Bullying.
  • Threats or intimidation.
  • Hate speech.
  • Discrimination.
  • Deliberate disruption of events.
  • Vandalism or damage to property.
  • Abuse of positions of trust.

Conflict

Disagreements are inevitable within any diverse community.

Members are encouraged to discuss differences respectfully and seek understanding before escalation.

Leadership and Service

The Avebury Tribe recognises that leadership is a form of service.

No title places an individual above others in worth or dignity.

The title comes from the role, and the role comes from service.

Community Responsibility

Everyone contributes to the atmosphere and reputation of the community.

Participants are encouraged to leave places better than they found them and people better than they met them.

Final Principle

Many paths. One shared ground.
