God & Goddess Walk and Awen Blessing
Before the circle is cast, the sacred path is walked. Join us at 12noon on Saturday at the Red Lion for the God and Goddess Walk—a ceremonial procession honouring the Divine Masculine and Feminine as they walk separate, meaningful paths toward a shared sacred purpose. This ritual precedes the Open Gorsedd The Path of the Goddess The Goddess party—those walking in honour of the Divine Feminine—will leave the Red Lion and proceed down the High Street. They will enter the SW quadrant through the gateway, walking widdershins (counter-clockwise) around the quadrant, then cross the road to reach the southern entrance, where they will gather at the base of the bank. ☀️ The Path of the God The God party—those walking in honour of the Divine Masculine—will depart the Red Lion and head up Green Street to the beech trees, ascending the top of the bank. From there, they walk clockwise along the top of the earthwork to the southernmost point, directly above where the Goddess party waits below. 🌕 The Meeting and the Challenge When the Goddess party arrives at the base of the bank, the Maiden is throned—a symbolic gesture of offering and invitation. The men descend and issue a ceremonial challenge to enter the circle. Upon its acceptance, blessings are exchanged, a ritual archway is formed, and the tribe processes together in unity into the circle where an Awen Blessing will be shared. Who May Walk? Everyone. You don’t need robes or rank—just respect. Choose the path that calls to you, walk with honour, and bring your spirit into balance with the land and with each other.

Free & Open Gorsedd
Come join us for a Druidic ceremony to celebrate Lammas Meet at the central stone. Offering of bread, mead, or Bardic performance always welcomed. No dress code but it is always good to see folk in their robes, etc.

Lammas / Lughnasadh ritual at Silbury Hill 2026
Lammas / Lughnasadh at Silbury Hill 2026 Sunday 2nd August 2026 Join us as we gather to celebrate Lammas (Loaf Mass) and Lughnasadh, the ancient festival marking the beginning of the harvest season and the turning of the year toward autumn. We will meet at 11:00am at the southern entrance of the Sun Circle in Avebury. From there we will process together to Silbury Hill, where our ritual will begin at midday. Please bring food to share for the picnic afterwards, along with musical instruments, stories, laughter and good company. Taking Part During the main ritual, we kindly ask that those not participating in the ceremonial circle respect the sacred space. Rather than simply watching from the sidelines, everyone is warmly invited to join in a mirror ritual nearby. This parallel ceremony will allow visitors and guests to honour the season, make their own offerings and celebrate alongside us while respecting the working ritual. After the Ceremony Once the rituals have concluded, everyone is invited to stay for the Silbury Hill Picnic and Lammas Games. Bring a packed lunch, something to share if you wish, and enjoy an afternoon of friendship, conversation and traditional seasonal fun. About Lammas and Lughnasadh Many people notice that the harvest often begins before August arrives—and that is perfectly in keeping with the spirit of the festival. Lughnasadh is a cross-quarter celebration, marking the beginning of the harvest season rather than a single day's agricultural activity. In the Anglo-Saxon tradition, Lammas ("Loaf Mass") celebrated the baking of the first loaf from the season's grain. In the Celtic tradition, Lughnasadh honoured the first fruits of the land and was traditionally a time of gatherings, fairs, games, athletic contests and community celebration. It recognised the first signs of the harvest while looking ahead to the abundance still to come. Although harvest times varied from place to place, the festival has always marked the seasonal turning point—the moment when summer begins to give way to autumn, and we pause to give thanks for the gifts of the land and the efforts of those who tend it. All are welcome to join us in celebrating this ancient festival in a spirit of respect, community and shared joy.

solar Eclipse 90%
Event: fb://event/26802308606109711 Join us in Avebury to view the solar eclipse in company. At 90% cover this will be a spectacular event for us to witness, as our ancestors would have done. However, please bring certified solar glasses and do NOT look directly at the sun. as per normal , please where appropriate clothing for the weather and something to sit on if you wish. and nibbles if you fancy that. the eclipse will start at approximately 6.17pm be at its maximum at approximately 7.12pm and finish approximately 8.06 pm. We will meet at the red lion at 6pm.
